I remember exactly what happened that day. The beginning of what was to be the worst, yet best time of my life. I remember it all in slow motion. You stepped forward. You said something to me. I don’t know what. You came over to rub my shoulders, but tripped midway. Well, I thought you tripped. When you didn’t laugh at my stupid joke, and your chest wasn’t rising, you hadn’t have tripped. And that was when my heart dropped. And my happiness died, collapsing like a bird, shot out of the sky. Just like that. I was no longer happy. I wasn’t worried. I wasn’t stressed. I wasn’t calm. I wasn’t anything. All I wanted was to make sure that you were going to be alright.
